WE DID IT! WE EXCEEDED OUR $10,000 GOAL!

Thank you to everyone that donated, shared, and posted about this important crowdfunding campaign!

Through your efforts, we raised $11,070, which was added to  the $10,000 matching funds contributed alumni Doug, BN’75, and Peggy, BN’76, GR’96, Person.

This outpouring of generosity supports the Live Mascot Program program and its continued work to be a welcome and inclusive presence on campus and expand the program’s work as an ambassador to prospective students and the greater Des Moines community.

And now for the fun: President Marty Martin issued a challenge that Griff would be named honorary President for a day if the fundraising goal was met by October 17. That goal was surpassed and October 22 will be Griff’s day in the big chair! Amazing news – we have surpassed our $10,000 goal for the Live Mascot Program! 

Thank you all so much for supporting this incredible program! Your generosity will empower this program to increase community outreach and involvement and sustain the program for future generations of Bulldogs and community members. 

This also means that our favorite Hometown Bulldog will get to be Drake’s honorary President for a day! Stay tuned to see what Griff accomplishes as President (hint: it involves treats and naps).  

Giving will remain open through the end of the campaign period, October 17.

Last week, we posted a challenge to our supporters that when we reached $7,500, they would be able to choose Griff’s Halloween costume! And you stepped up in a big way – helping us get to $7,500 in just days! Thank you so much!

And today, Drake University President Marty Martin issued a new challenge! If we reach the $10,000 goal by October 17, he will declare Griff honorary President of Drake University for a day, and we’ll get to see just what President Griff gets up to on his social media channels.
